Visit to the Nuncio

Representatives of CAMPSSI and their spiritual leaders from Tangaza University paid a courtesy call to The Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya and South Sudan Archbishop Hubert Van Megen.

Besides formally introducing the Catholic MPs Spiritual Support Initiative to the Nuncio, the legislators informed the Nuncio about their programs, partners, local and international networks, future plans and aspirations.

They assured the Nuncio of their commitment to fight corruption.

They also expressed their concerns about the upcoming ICPD25 Nairobi Summit which is clearly anti-family and also against the Kenyan cultural and religious values. The parliamentarians have rejected a proposal to have parliamentary delegates sit in the Kenyan Chambers to discuss homosexuality.

The Apostolic Nuncio congratulated the legislators and Tangaza for coming together to form such a ministry. He told them that they must take  their work responsibly because the good that the do today will have an impact for a very long time and any bad that they might do will similarly have a negative impact for a long time.

He told them that they should never think that whatever they are doing is negligibly small but to remember that they are like the yeast and their impact will felt much later.

On ICPD25 he informed the MPs that the Holy See will not participate given the many unclear issues around the agenda of the conference. He cautioned the political leaders to beware of the concepts and coded word used in such a summit which mean a lot different from the surface meaning. These includes words like diversity, rights, inclusivity, being merciful, being humane etc.

He described ICPD25 as a propagator of the doctrine of death and clearly stated that vices like homosexuality disconnect sexuality with procreation.  This leads to attitudes like “my body my choice”  which are the genesis of a culture of death which includes Euthanasia.

He noted that the government of Kenya will need good experts if it desires to escape the trap of the ICPD25 who have very powerful forces behind them, they have a lot of funds and are very well prepared. “The children of darkness are smarter than the children of light”…said the Nuncio

He further cautioned the legislators to understand that whether or not Kenya endorses the commitments of the ICPD25 Summit; whether or not the commitments of the Summit are endorsed by the majority or the minority, the Name Nairobi will always be quoted the same way Cairo is quoted 25 years down the line.

“Once Kenya opens the door to the discussion to Sexual Health Rights, it will never be able to close it. And the human mind is capable of getting used to the most evil things if they are too often discussed”  He continued.
